'So kurz vor Ostern haben wir auf unserem Spaziergang durch den Schlosspark in Bergedorf doch nochmal einen Blick auf den Ablegeort der Muschel geworfen. Und siehe da, noch niemand hatte sie mitgenommen. Da uns eine spannende Reise bevor stand, haben wir uns gesagt, Jürgen wäre bestimmt nicht abgeneigt, noch einmal die Malediven zu sehen. Wir haben ihn gefragt, ob er mit will, und er hat " Ja" gesagt. Jetzt genießt er hier das schöne warme Klima bei herrlichster Aussicht und in bester Gesellschaft. Sicher wird er seine Reise um die Welt mit jemand Anderem fortsetzten.'

'So shortly before Easter, on our walk through the castle park in Bergedorf, we took another look at the place of the mussel. And for whatever reason no one had taken it with them yet. As we had an exciting journey ahead of us, we told ourselves that Jürgen would certainly not be averse to seeing the Maldives again. We asked him if he wanted to join, and he said yes. Now he enjoys the beautiful warm climate here with the most magnificent view and in the best company. Surely he will continue his journey around the world with someone else.'

Was für eine schöne Reise! Jürgen freut sich garantiert, die Malediven wiederzusehen. Wir waren dort im Dezember 2003 (ist das tatsächlich schon 20 Jahre her?) für 14 traumhafte Tage, eine Woche auf der Insel Baros im Nord-Male-Atoll über Weihnachten und eine Woche Segeltörn auf der Dream Voyager im Nord-Male- und Ari-Atoll mit einer Silvesterparty an Bord.
In meinem Reisetagebuch schrieb ich: 'Unser Captain drängelt. Ohne Frühstück geht es ab in den Dhoni (unser Tauch- und Schnorchelboot). Eine grosse Gruppe Mantas tummelt sich in der Nähe. Majestätische Tiere, 2 bis 3 Meter Spannweite. Riesiges Maul, schwimmen auf uns zu, tauchen weg, segeln vorbei...'
Möge dieses Paradies noch sehr, sehr lange erhalten bleiben!
What a nice trip! Jürgen will definitely be happy to see the Maldives again. We were there in December 2003 (was that actually 20 years ago?) for 14 dreamlike days, a week on the island of Baros in the North Male Atoll over Christmas and a week of sailing trip on the Dream Voyager in the North Male and Ari Atoll with a New Year's Eve party on board.
In my travel diary I wrote: 'Our captain is pushing. Without breakfast it goes to the Dhoni (our diving and snorkeling boat). A large group of Mantas is bustling nearby. Majestic animals, 2 to 3 meters span. Huge mouth, swim towards us, dive away, sail past...'
May this paradise be preserved for a very, very long time!
